More about the class...
Join Sheri Winkelmann, an AEA and SAG Union actress and a graduate of the Theater School at DePaul University, Chicago, for this intensive acting class. With her extensive background in theater and on-camera performance, Sheri will guide you through the transformative Stanislavski technique to elevate your on-camera performance. We need to build a character’s world quickly for on-camera work and compelling auditions. With a deep dive into Stanislavski's methods, you will have the tools to build a character, while also bringing your authentic self to each role. With Stanislavski’s ‘Given Circumstances’, meticulously analyzing your script for essential details to build a character, and experiencing the ‘Magic If’, you will instinctively understand your character's reactions and choices, which leads to great freedom in your acting. We will explore ‘Tasks and Objectives’, identifying your character's goals and motivations to drive your performance with purpose, clarity and intensity. Your performance begins before you’re on-camera, so we will work to have you rooted in the ‘who, what, where, why, and how’ of your character, which creates a relaxation that is magnetic to watch. The Stanislavski technique remains one of the best systems for actors, helping you create truthful, compelling characters on-camera and in live performance. As you master these techniques, bring your characters to life on camera, and deliver unforgettable, emotionally charged performances, your confidence will soar as an actor, which translates into booking more work.
